Beyond the Valley — Finding Hope in Life’s Losses

Where is God when the bottom drops out? The easy answers may be true enough, but when loss and sorrow come our way, when the pain goes deeper than we ever thought possible, it’s hard to find comfort in the thought of a loving God.

Yet there is a light beyond the darkness, and hope for hopelessly broken hearts to find peace. Dave Branon knows. When his 17-year-old daughter, Melissa, died in a car crash, Dave found himself on a journey through a wasteland of grief. Out of his struggles emerged insights into the Scriptures that brought him through and strengthened his walk with God.

In Beyond the Valley, Branon shares frank, practical devotions for those who suffer. If you or someone you know wrestles with one of life’s inevitable losses, this book is for you. Including questions for personal reflection, Beyond the Valley points the way to healing for life’s deep wounds, and renewed confidence in God’s love for you.

I lost a 16 yr. old daughter to cancer the same year Dave's daughter was killed. Five years later, I came to know Christ. This has been one on the best written books on grief that I've read-it offers such hope to the hurting soul!

Dave Branon has been given a ministry to those of us who have lost children. I just finished the January 15, 2012 reading from Our Daily Bread, and once again he touches my heart. Thank you, Dave, for helping ease the pain.

I am the mother, mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma of the precious family involved in the tragic murder on March 1, 2011 in Burlington, CO. I got Beyond The Valley the next day and begin reading it. I was experiencing many of the same feelings as Dave Branon when he lost a daughter and I am well aware it is only the beginning.. It has been a help in responding and forgiving people that haven't experienced the lose of two loved ones and the removal of nine others that were in your daily life. God is my only comfort and reading books of other suffering ones that can know the grief you go through. I take it with me wherever I go so I can grab some peace in every spare minute. I'm not sure why I got it, I may have ordered it not knwoing how it would comfort me by the time I received it. Anyway, I Praise God for how He works in our lives and I am patiently waiting for some revelation of how this works into His Perfect Plan. Your book has truly been a blessing and comfort. Thank you! We lost our 19-yr.old daughter 30 years ago when a drunken driver took her life..and walked on a technicality - and the pain is still there. Dave has touched our lives with his inspired analysis of the pain, and the God-given remedy. Although the pain will never cease, the anticipation of reunion with Tina draws closer every day and, God willing, will be erased by spending eternity with her. Thanks, Dave!

I've just recently lost my Dad and was searching for a book to help me deal with the grief that comes with his passing. Mr. Branon's book has helped me in a way that I wouldn't imagine, he has helped me become even stronger in my faith and always know that it was always God's plan for everything that happened and that my dad is most defintaly in the best place he could ever be. I want to thank you so much for this book. It has helped me so much.
