David H. Roper was a pastor for more than 30 years and now directs Idaho Mountain Ministries,
a retreat dedicated to the encouragement of pastoral couples. He enjoys
fly-fishing, fly-tying, hiking, and just being streamside in the
mountains with his wife Carolyn.
His favorite fictional character is
Reepicheep, the tough little mouse that is the "soul of courage" in C.
S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia. His favorite biblical character is Caleb—that rugged old saint who never retired but "died climbing."
David is a regular contributor to the daily devotional Our Daily Bread and is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary. In past years, David served on the pastoral staff of Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, California, and as senior pastor of Cole Community Church in Boise, Idaho.
